Evaluation with Question one, two. three and four
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products.?
The shots that I have shown above are from my short film.
2. This medium shot of the man who appears to be obsessed with this girl shows how much he desires her as he waits in his red room for the photos to develop. Too add to the fact that he is obsessed he has even taken pictures of her and has started to develop them so this also shows his fascination for her.
4. Clearly here he cannot wait for the pictures to develop as he strokes the pictures as if they are together or he misses her or something. This guy is starting to do some strange stuff and it seems he has troubles or something.
6. I decided to show her with her best friend together in this medium two shot as in the real world you should trust the ones you are most close with and take their advice when you ask for it. Seeing as he looks like a guy that hangs around on the street it should make her want to listen to him even more. However girls these days only seem to care about their emotions and no one elses.
8. This shot shows how defenseless women can be when they meet strangers as you don't know what to expect. It seems to be in a secluded area where no one seems to be around, the chances of her getting saved are minimal.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I got decided to show the rough cut of my film to three different types of audience so I could have a varied amount of responses.
School kids aged 11-16
I showed my film to ten kids in the lower years at my school to get some advice on maybe how I could improve it. when they had finished watching it they thought it wasn't very nice that the girl was taken away but couldn't stop asking me what happened to her. I didnt seem to be able to get some postive feedback from these kids so I moved on to my next audience where I hoped I would get some pointers.

During the Easter holidays I made a DVD copy of my film and brought it home for my Mum and Dad to watch. Whilst they were watching it they seemed to notice some errors like there was too much walking and I should maybe do something in between her walking in the school. So when I went back to filming I took the stalker and tooks some shots of him developing pictures in his red room whilst she walked around the school. This I believe gives a brief insight to what the stalker is like and how weird he is.
Teacher at my school - Miss Pavlik
Miss Pavlik was the most honest teacher out of them all and probably gave me the most ideas on how to improve my film and make it what it is now. One of the things she said which stood out the most was that she didnt get the feeling that she was getting watched. So when I went back to editing I chose to change a few of the shots to make it look like she was being watched by CCTV. This to me made it clear she was being watched as everywhere she went was picked up by CCTV and followed. Another thing she pointed out was the quality of the sound of my film. When I was filiming for my scenes I used the camera default audio so anything that was said during scenes was picked up by the camera. To improve the quality of my sound i decided to used a marantz. Using one of these I was able to film the audio outside of the shot and then link it up with my film and therefore making the sound quality a lot better.
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
In this photo I am adjusting the screen for the lighting of my film poster. I had to get the right balance of light shining on the back of me to get the bold figure of the shadow on the blue screen.
In the picture above I am recording my radio trailer for my film. The piece of equipment I am using is called a Marantz, I also used it to record sounds clips in my film as the sound quality of of your voice is better than using a boom which also requires more than one person to use.
Here I am seen using a tripod and a camera. These were both used in every single shot that I had filmed for my short film. Using a tripod is vital as it is the only way you are able to get a even shot whilst filming. The camera which I used to film is called....................... Here is a photo below showing you which model I used.
In this photo I am preparing to take the picture for my film poster. I also used this camera to take photos of where I was filming and had to include why i had filmed there. Finally I used this camera to take photos of the characters in my film and use the pictures to describe them.
This is where the production of my film began in Adobe Premier Pro. It took me about 2 months to put all of the editing together to get my final completed copy of the film. This program is very good for beginners who want to could maybe want to be an editor in the future.
I used Microsoft Word for the following tasks:
- Script
- Synopsis
- Treatment
- Shooting Script.
Youtube was used for various different reasons. Firstly I had to research into short films and then take ideas from them and make one of my own, I also used it to upload my short film and get comments from people.
Here I am seen using Blogspot.com, on a dailty basis I would update my blog saying what I had done for that day if anything was done. I would mainly update my production log when I had done some filming or just gone out to take some location photos.
For this final picture it shows one of the sites that I used to research short films. I watched and analysed two films that was on the site which is included in my blog.
Here is the final cut of my film
Stalked from Jemma Goulds on Vimeo.
This is a selection of nine key frames selected from other short films I have watched.
Click on the image to enlarge the size.
1: This shot is from a short film called ‘Dinner at Sarah’s’ and shows the intentions of the young man as he intends not only to have dinner but some extras. It portrays the mindset of youth these days and what they are mainly up to in their free time.
2: In this short film named ‘The Virus’ there is a man who has spotted danger but also seems to
be being watched by someone, this twist to the story makes you think something will also happen to him as well as the person he is worried about.
be being watched by someone, this twist to the story makes you think something will also happen to him as well as the person he is worried about.
3:This shot from the film ‘Strangers’ was a shot which came up a lot, every time he came across some he didn’t know. It seemed as if he had a vengeance against everyone.
4:This next shot from the short film ‘A thousand words’ only have two characters in the whole film which keep it simple for the audience to follow and doesn’t make it to complicated.
5:The film ‘Real Love’ shows the main aspect of what the film is about, a deranged teenage girl who has found love with her imaginary best friend. It shows yet again what some youth are like nowadays and how not all people are normal.
6:The next film which has music played throughout it ‘Black Button’ shows the tension that is being built up by using the music as it starts off slow and mellow and gradually rises to a fast tempo beat as he waits to makes a decision on what to do.
7:‘Piano’ is the next film I have quickly chosen to write about as the music throughout the film portrays different good times and bad time in his life.
8:The next thriller ’Lapse’ which shows a typical empty hospital. The Crazy patient who goes around searching for everyone.
9: The final film anticipates back to real life to show the realism back to real life as she is dealing with a problem that she can only deal with asap, that being also pregnant at the same time puts her and the baby at risk.
The shots that I have shown above are from my short film.
1. Shot one shows Mary being watched by a CCTV camera, this I feel gives off the impression that she is being watched on purpose as it follows her all the way around the school while she walks around. This relates back to the title of the film 'Stalked'
2. This medium shot of the man who appears to be obsessed with this girl shows how much he desires her as he waits in his red room for the photos to develop. Too add to the fact that he is obsessed he has even taken pictures of her and has started to develop them so this also shows his fascination for her.
3. The long shot used in this scene shows how laid back the girl is but also links to her openess to agree to meet the man. I have made her spread her legs out because i wanted to show how open she is to doing things and she doesn't give it a second thought for the consequences that could occur.
4. Clearly here he cannot wait for the pictures to develop as he strokes the pictures as if they are together or he misses her or something. This guy is starting to do some strange stuff and it seems he has troubles or something.
5. This shot that i have used here shows that she has dressed up to meet this boy later today and has even done her hair. This is to show how some girls are in the real world, they meet someone on Facebook or in a chat room and begin to trust him even though they have seen the guy before.
7. This long shot of the stalker as he approches to meet with the girl gives you an idea how is his as a person as all through the film he has had his hood up to protect his face. As he comes into the shot it seems he has come from the bushes, this also points out to the fact that this guy could be crazy and out of his mind.
8. This shot shows how defenseless women can be when they meet strangers as you don't know what to expect. It seems to be in a secluded area where no one seems to be around, the chances of her getting saved are minimal.
9.The final shot shows where Mary has been taken and then the camera is spun around to show the emptiness of the neighbourhood. Girls in the real world shouldnt meet people unknown area and should stick to well crowded places so if he tries to do anything weird there will be someone there to help her out. As she screams for help whilst she is being assaulted there is no hope for her as there is nobody around.
A Film that has inspired me is 'The Virus' . The aspect of not knowing what is coming next really appealed to me as i was always on the edge of my seat, so i gained inspiration from this short film to do mine.
The essence of mystery and not knowing who certain people are or why they are there make you play a story of your own in your head and when you finally realise what happens it shocks you. It is also linked with my film as it is a type of film that makes you want to shout at the person who is in danger, its brings a sense of tension and anxiousness whilst you are watchingit as your afraid something may happen to him.
Question two: How effecive is the combination of your main project and ancillary texts?
I got decided to show the rough cut of my film to three different types of audience so I could have a varied amount of responses.

This is where I put together my film poster in Adobe Photoshop. It only took me a day as I knew what kind of designs I wanted. There is a range of hundreds of fonts and colours to use when designing your poster.
I used Microsoft Word for the following tasks:
- Script
